Built by Great Lakes Engineering Works, Ashtabula with yard number 173 in 1917 for the French company Cie. Algerienne de Navigation, requisitioned by the US Shipping Board in 1917, seized by the Japanese in 1941 and torpedoed and sunk on 29 May 1943. Chinese 1937-1939, Greek 1939-1940 and Panamanian 1940-1941. Gross tonnage 2,846 tons, under deck 2.046 tons, net tonnage 1,782 tons and as dimensions 253.00 x 43.42 x 27.42 feet. Reciprocating propulsion. Coal fuelled. Single screw. Horsepower 280nhp. Speed 9 (normal cruising)-11 (maximum) knots.
