British helicopter command ship HMS Blake 1942-1982

C99. Part of Tiger-class light cruisers preceded by Minotaur-class. Ordered under 1942 Additional Naval Programme, laid down by Fairfiel Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Govan, Scotland on 17 August 1942, renamed TIger in 1944, renamed Blake in 1945, launched on 20 December 1945, building suspended and laid up in 1946, completed since 1954 using a new design, commissioned on 18 March 1961, converted into a helicopter and command cruiser between 1965-1969, decommissioned in December 1979 and sold to be broken up on 25 August 1982.
