In a report dated February 1938 dealing with the valuation of the Russian fleet was stated that the large submarines (900-1,500 ton) were mostly modern boats with minimum ranges of 7,000 nautical miles. Included the Prawda-class (1) with 3 in the Baltic which could be fitted out with 50 mines. The Leninetz-class (3) had 8 mines on board.
Notes
1. Pravda- or P-class of which 4 planned and 3 completed, originally used for training purposes in the Second World War for transport purposes.
2. Leninets- or L-class minelaing submarines preceded by Dekabrist-class succeeded by Shchuka-class built between 1931-1941 totally 25.
