Small battleship design of British captain Bernard Ackworth published in 1935

Coal-fuelled. Displacement 11,980 (standard)-12,600 (1/2 fuel on board) tons and as dimensions 430 (between perpendiculars) x 72.0 (extreme) x 36.6 (depth upper deck) x 23.0 (draught) feet. Fitted out with 6 coal fired Yarrow boilers. Horsepower 9,500 hp. Spoeed 17.5 knots. Range 6,500 nautical miles. Armour consisted of 30.48cm/12” belt and barbettes and 7.62cm/3” armoured deck. Weight armour 3,350 ton. Armament 3x2-34.29cm/13.5”guns, 4-4.7” high angle guns and 4-3pd salut guns. Ackworth (3 February 1885-16 February 1963) was an English submariner, writer, evangelical Christian and creationist.
