An item reported that the American battleship USS New Mexico was full speed underway towards Havana, Cuba caused by the latest tidings received from Cuba. (1,2)

Notes

1. Ordered in 1914 was she laid down at the New York Navy Yard on 14 October 1915, launched on 13 April two years later while christened by Miss Margaret Cabeza De Baca, commissioned on 20 May 1918, at Philadelphia between March 1931-January 1933 extensively modernized, decommissioned on 19 June 1946, stricken on 25 February 1947, breaking up between 24 November 1947-July 1948. Of the New Mexico-class preceded by Pennsylvania-class succeeded by the Tennessee-class.

2. Probably the coup d'etat which became known as the Cuban Revolution of Sergeant's Revolt by army sergeants and enlisted men o 4-5 September 1933 resulting in the One Hundred Days Government caused this departure.
