Laid down by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, Massachusetts, USA on 2 January 1934, launched on 11 December 1935, commissioned on 28 August 1936, decommissioned on 2 November 1945, stricken on 28 January 1947 and sold to be broken up on 16 May 1947.
