Japanese cargo ship Kensyo Maru or Kensho Maru 1938-1944

Call sign JQDM. Laid down by Tama Shipbuilding Co. Ld., Tama, Japan on 28 Feburary 1938, launched on 30 June 1938, completed on 30 August 1938, requisitioned by the navy on 14 September 1940, registered as auxiliary transport on 15 October 1941, sunk in an air attack on Truk (Operation Hailstone) on 17 February 1944 and sstricken on 10 November 1944. Gross tonnage 4,862 tons, netto tonnage 2,893 tons, deadweight 7,026 tons and as dimensions 384.4 x 52.5 x 30.3 x 11 (light)-25 (loaded) feet. Diesel propulsion, horsepower 642 nhp, oil bunker capacity 881 tons, range nautical 21,600 miles/15 knots and speed 15 (normal cruising)-17 (maximum) knots.
