British armour-clad design of H. Caudwell in 1863

The South Kensington Museum exhibited in 1889 a transverse sectional model made of wood of an armour plated ship of war, contributed in 1864 and transferred by the Patent Musem in 1886. While the designer was unknown was th model removed from the exhibition. Later it became known that H. Caudwell patented in 1863 a design for an armour-clad.
