Japanese cargo ship Choko Maru 1926-1941 (Choko Maru No. 2 1941-1944

According to Lloyds in 1938 renamed Tyoko Maru. Similar Tyoko Maru, Tyozyo Maru and Tyoan Maru. Call sign JTWA., Homeport Osaka, Japan. Lai down by Osaka Iron Works Ltd., Osaka in end 1926, launched on 7 April 1927, completed on 14 June 1927, requsitioned by the navy on 1 December 1941, converted into an auxiliary gunboat, torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Albacore (SS-218) around 325 nautical miles south west of Truk and stricken on 10 March 1944. Gross tonnage 2,629 tons, under deck 1,905 tons, net tonnage 1,357 tons and as dimensions 284.5 x 45.6 x 23.0 feet. and speed 14 (normal cruising)-16.5 (maximum) knots.
