French whaler General D’Hautpoul visited Lahaina, Hawaii according to the The Friend dated 8 November 1858

An item reported the arrival on 13 October of the French whaler General D’Hautpoul, captain Darmandarits of Le Havre, France, 80 barrels sperm oil, 900 barrels whale oil , 12,000 lbs bone, coming from Arctic. Left 26 October for New Zealand, a second item reported on 30 October for cruising and back home.
