Laid down by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Fore River Shipyard on 3 June 1935, launched on 1 December 1936, commissioned on 24 June 1937, decommissioned on 18 April 1946, stricken on 25 February 1947 and sold to be broken up on 20 August 1947.
