Used on board of the Almirante-class destroyers Almirante Williams and Riveros. Chile ordered before the outbreak of the First World War six destroyers of the Almirante Lynx-class in England. The Almirante Lynch and Almirante Condell were indeed delivered, the other four destroyers were purchased by England and commissioned in the British Royal Navy as the Faulknor-class flotilla leaders. After the war were three of the four destroyers handed over to Chile and renamed Almirante Riveros, Almirante Unibe and Almirante Williams as part of the Almirante Williams-class. All three ships were broken up in 1933. The HMS Tipperary (ex-Almirante Riveros) sunk in the Battle of Jutland against the German fleet on 31 May 1916.
