Ordered under the contract name Ersatz Jagd, laid down by AG Vulcan, Stettin, Germany in September 1907, launched on 23 January 1909, commissioned on 1 October 1909 and sunk during the Battle of Heligoland Bight against the British Royal Navy on 28 August 1914.
