Japanese survey ship (ex-Michael Jebsen 1904-1914) Koshu or Kosyu 1914-1940

Built in Germany in 1904 as a cargo ship to be used in the German Chinese concessions, scuttled in the Jiaozhou Bay in November 1914, salvaged by the Japanese, renamed Koshu on 16 July 1915 and during the First World War used as cargo ship, fitted out as survey ship in 1921, classified as survey ship in 1922 and scrapped on 1 April 1940. Displacement 2,080 ton and as dimensions 253 (between perpendiculars)-264 (over all)x 36 x 22 (loaded) feet. Horsepower 800 hp and speed 8.5 (cruising)-11 (maximum) knots.
