The fleet of the Japanese navy according to the Australia Station Intelligence Summary dated7 January 1955

An item reported that by November 1954 the Japanese navy possessed2 former US destroyers (2,425 ton), 18 former American patrol frigates, 50 former American L.S.S.L.’s, 23 former American m/s A.M.C.’s, 10 m/s A.M.S.’s, 88 miscellaneous service craft and 4 Bell 47 helicopters.
