The Japanese merchant shipbuilding programmes of 1954-1955 according to the Australia Station Intelligence Summary dated 7 January 1955

An item reported that the Japanese Government modified 10th merchant shipbuilding programme spoke about 18 ships with a total tonnage of 135,000 gross tons It was expected that the 11th programme for 1955 would show a substantial increase in the tonnage while the building costs were declining.
