Laid down by Fore River Shipyard, Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Quincy, Massachusetts, USA on 27 March 1940, launched on 26 July 1941, commissioned on 10 January 1942, decommissioned on 4 November 1946, reclassified CLAA-53 on 18 March 1949, stricken on 1 March 1959 and sold to be broken up in December 1960.
