Portuguese protected cruiser Rainha Dona Amélia 1899-1910 and República 1910-1915

Design of French engineer Alphonse Croneau. Launched at Arsenal de Marinha, Lisbon, Portugal on 10 April 1899, commissioned on 23 May 1901, decommissioned while needing repairs in 1905, recommissioned and renamed República in December 1910, run aground near Consolacao Bay, south of Peniche on 3 August 1915, abandoned and stricken on 20 August 1915.
