An item reported that Russia still not directly controlled the entire Finnish merchant fleet. Finland had about 15,000 tons unallocated tonnage available for own purposes. A total tonnage of 107,050 tons was handed over to Russia under the terms of surrender. Of what was left was 84,106 tons chartered to Russia, 15,788 tons active in the Swedish and Danish trade, 32,729 employed in coastal traffic and another 15,900 tons under repair. There were no Finnish ships available for the trade with the United Kingdom.

1. Finland was tiwce at war with Russia (Winter War 1939-1940 and Continuation War 1941-1944) never surrendered but forced to sign treaties with territorial concessions.
