French battleship Bouvet 1893-1915

Half sisters were Charles Martel, Jauréguiberry, Carnot, and Masséna built on the basic design of the Brennus with the arrangement of the Magenta as a response of the British Royal Sovereign-class battleships which were built between 1889-1894. The Bouvet was based on the Charles Martel design. Laid down by Arsenal de Lorient, France on 16 January 1893, launched on 27 April 1896, commissioned in June 1898 and sunk in the Dardanelles after striking a mine on 18 March 1915.
