Reciprocating propulsion. MCC contract number 15978. MCE hull number 2445. Builder’s hull number 50. Operator Merchants& Miners Transport Company.

Shipyard Southeastern Shipbuilding Corporation, Savannah, Georgia, USA. Date contract 17 July 1943. Contracted delivery date 12 April 1944. Laid down on 18 March 1944. Launched on 29 April 1944. Delivered on 20 May 1944.

Note

1. EC=Emergency Cargo, 2=between 20,000-29,999 tons deadweight, S=single screw-C1=basic configuration. Tranferred to the US Navy on 23 August 196, converted into a minesweeper and became the Minesweeper, Special, MMS-1, decommissioned on 15 March 1973 and sold to be broken up on 9 September 1975.
