Deed of bottomry dated 1 April 1661 in which Joan van Loon former alderman and merchant in which he stated for himself and his brother Guilliaume and sisters Geertruijt, Haesgen and Anna to have borrowed from bookkeeper of the Dutch West Indies Company Chamber Delft Cornelis van der Burcht 2,400 guilders for bottomry as owners of the ship Melckmeijt 160 lasten commandeur Gerrit Crijnen and galliot Abrahams Offerhande commandeur Nanning Heindericxen both to be fitted out to go to Greenland for whaling.
