Call sign JHRD. Homeport in 1939 Osaka, Japan. Laid down by Uchida S.B.&Eng. Co., Yokohama, Japan in 1920, launched on 25 October 1902, completed on 15 December 1920, requisitioned by the army and became troop transport Alloted IJA No. 548 on 5 October 1941, torpedoed by American submarine USS Pomfret SS-391under way from Takao towards Manilla, Philippines in 3 November 1944 and scuttled by her own escort. Gross tonnage 5,220 tons, under deck 4,774 tons, net tonnage 3,159 tons, deadweight 8,634 tons and as dimensions 400.0 x 54/5 x 30.- x 8 (light)-24.8” (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, single screw, 513 nhp horsepower, oil bunker capacity 2,200 ton, range 17,500 nautical miles/10 knots and speed 10 (normal cruising)-13 (maximum) knots.
