An item reported the departure on 14 February of the British destroyer leader HMS Wallace (1) and he destroyers, Vanity (2), Vanessa (3) and Vancouver (4) from Portsmouth arriving at Portland.

1. Part of Thornycroft type destroyer leader or Shakespeare-class preceded by Admiralty V-class leader succeeded by Admiralty type leader, ordered in April 1917, laid down by John I. Thornycroft&Company on 15 August 1917, launched on 26 October 1918, commissioned on 14 February 1919 and broken up in late 1945.

2. Part of Admiralty V-class destroyers preceded by S- and Parker-classes succeeded by Thornycroft destroyer leader, ordered on 30 June 1916, laid down by William Beardmore and Company, Dalmuir, Scotland on 28 July 1917, launched on 3 May 1918, commissioned on 21 June 1918, decommissioned 1930s, recommissioned in August 1939, to be disposed in 1946 and sold to be broken up on 4 March 1947.

3. Part of Admiralty V-class destroyers preceded by S- and Parker-classes succeeded by Thornycroft destroyer leader, ordered on 30 June 1916, laid down by William Beardmore and Company, Dalmuir, Scotland on 10 May 1917, launched on 16 March 1918, completed on 21 June 1918, commissioned 1918, decommissioned in December 1921, recommissioned 1939, decommissioned in 1945, sold to be broken up on 4 March 1947 which started in February 1947.

4. Part of Admiralty V-class destroyers preceded by S- and Parker-classes succeeded by Thornycroft destroyer leader, laid down by William Beardmore and Company, Dalmuir, Scotland on 28 December 1917, renamed HMS Vilmy in April 1928, decommissioned in March 1947 and sold to be broken up in December 1947.
