German destroyer S 176 performed wel during her first trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1910-1911 no. 9

An item reported that the German destroyer S 176 which executed her first trials achieving a speed of 33,06 miles was part of the newest range of large torpedo boats for which the Schichau shipyard in spring 1909 received ordered to build. She was the first of her class to be completed of which anotherthree (V 176-179)on short notice were to start with their trials. Together with the new destroyers G 174 and 176 and the six by Vulcan built boats V 180-185 formed all these boats a new flotilla. The six Vulcan-boats already executed their trials and with a machinery consisting of turbines part of the second Turbine torpedo boat flotilla.
