Ordered on 21 October 1977, laid down by Yarrow Shipbuilders on 18 August 1978, launched on 4 March 1980, accepted into service on 11 June 1982, commissioned on 2 July 1982, sold to Brazil on 18 November 1994, commissioned on 30 August 1996, decommissioned on 29 September 2015 and sunk as target in July 2017.
