Antarctic sealing ground ? Rigging schooner. Captain Bray. Left Bristol, Rhode Insland, USA for a sealing voyage in 1831. Bray left earlier Newburyport prior to 1830 with a schooner to the Falkland islands and the vicinity of Cape Horn. Sent around 3,000 fur-seal skins back home but lost his ship on Terra del Fuego [Argentina]. Crew members caught on various seal island between 1,000-1,500 fur-seal skins. Using what was left of his ship Brown built a vessel to bring his men back home. Caught with the Telegrah in 1833 around 3,500 fur-seal and in 1833 around 2,000 fur-seal skins. Departed again lossing his ship on Hope Island, south west of Terra del Fuego in January 1834.
