American whaler Daniel Wood visited Chatham Island, New Zealand according to the newspaper Otago Daily Times dated 25 March 1862

An item referred to a statement of master Marcy of the whaler Napoleon who spoke the American whaler Daniel Wood, ship, 345 tons, master Richmond, of New Bedford, 300 barrels sperm oil, 300 barrels whale oil on 8 February off Chatham Island, New Zealand.(1)
