Ordered under the 1942 Additional Naval ProgrammeLaid down by Scotts Shipbuilding&Engineering Co., Greenock, Scotland on 24 June 1942, launched on 2 September 1944, building suspended in 1946, building restarted by Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson, Wallsend on the Tyne in 1957, accepted by navy in July 1960, commissioned on 20 July 1960, decommissioned in December 1972, used as parts hulk for her two sisters since 1973 and sold to be broken up on 12 February 1975.
