Part of the Kaibokan Type C ordered under the 1943-1944 Programme and 1944-9145 Programme and which were a reduced version of the Ukuru design. Jane’s edition 1959-1959 referred to these ships as escort corvettes type No. 1 (diesel propulsion). Launched in 1944, completed on 16 December 1944, surrendered in August 1944, used for repatration purposes, transferred to Nationalist China on 31 July 1947, renamed Hsin An, wrecked on the Pescadores on 26 September 1954, hulked and renamed Ch’Ang, in 1958-1959 decribed as laid up and non-operational, never rearmedand due to extensive damage and flooding was she hulked. Jane’s editon 1962-1963 last time mentioned. The website dealing with the type C reports a No. 205 calling her Chinan. Programme No. 2503, Ship No. 215, laid down by Nihonkai Dock Company on 10 May 1944, launched on 15 August 1944, completed on 30 October 1944,decommissioned on 5 October 1945, surrendered to the Republic of China (=Nationalist China later Taiwan) on 6 July 1947, renamed Chinan PF-75 and decommissioned in 1960.
