British War Cabinet interested in building mammoth merchant ships in 1917

In the British War Cabinet meeting of 2 May 1917 was again the building of mammoth merchant ships discussed; see also War Cabinet 126 Minute 6. Lord Curzon wrote a proposal to built such a ship. The idea was to built maximum 10 of such ships waiting for the appointment of major-general Sir E. Geddes.(1)

1. This must be Sir Eric Campbell Geddes (26 September 1875 British India-22 June 1937), Minister of Transport between 19 May 1919-7 November 1921 and First Lord of the Admiralty between 17 July 1917-10 January 1919.
