Antarctic sealing ground. Rigging schooner. Tonnage 66 tons. Captain Smiley left Newport, Rhode Island on 30 March 1839 on a sealing voyage to Cape Horn and vicinity. Made two voyages with this ship with each time around 2,000 fur-seal skins. Made prior to 1844 with another ship two voyages, the first with good results, the last voyage was his ship lost.
