American sailing sealing ship Columbia in 1838

Antarctic sealing ground. Rigging ship. Captain Smith, tonnage 492 tons, sailed from New London to Desolation Island on 25 July 1838 and arrived at home on 1 May 1839 with 3,700 barrels of sea-elephant oil.
