Part of Minotaur-class (also known as Swiftsure-class after 1944) preceded by Fiji-class (also called Colony and Crown Colony-class) and succeeded by planned Neptune-class and realized by Tiger-class. Laid down by Fairfield on 17 August 1942, launched on 20 December 1946 and next redesigned and completed as part of the Tiger-class.
