Laid down by Ansaldo, Genoa on 29 April 1925, launched on 27 May 1927, completed on 15 May 1928 and sunk in an attack by Swordfish torpedo bombers of the British aircraft carrier HMS Eagle on the harbour of Tobruk, Libya on 5 July 1940.
