Japanese cargo ship Myoho Maru 1938-1943

Similar Myogi Maru, Myoho Maru, Myoken Maru and Myoko Maru. Owner in 1939 Nippon Yusen K.K., Tokyo, since 12 August East China Shipping Co. Ltd, Nagasaki. Laid down by Harima Shipbuilding&Engineering Co. Ltd, Harima with yard number 268 on 18 August 1938, launched on 3 February 1939, completed on 1 April 1939, requisitioned by the army Allotted Army No. 914 on 15 October 1941 and sunk by the American submarine USS Swordfish (SS-193) north north east of Buin, Bougainville, Solomon seas. Gross tonnage 4,000 tons and as dimensions 360.0 x 50.0 x 29.0 feet. Direct Drive geared turbine propulsion, one screw, horsepower 600 nhp, coal bunker capacity 570 tons, range 5,000 nautical miles/14 knots and speed 14 (normal cruising)-16.5 (maximum) knots.
