Large amount of ammunition shipped from French Indochina towards Burma according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 21 February 1942

An item reported that according to a Chinese source at Saigon, French Indochina 20,000 ton ammunition partly French property was shipped to be used [by the Japanese] in Burma.

Note

1. Japan invaded the northern part of French Indochina (Tonkin) between 22-26 September 1940. France was then already in German hands except for Vichy France., In July 1941 followed the southern part.
