An item reported that according to photos made during reconnaissance flights on 22 February the German battleship Gneisenau and light cruiser Nürnberg were lying at Kiel, Germany, the battleship Scharnhorst at Wilhelmshaven, the pocket battleship Admiral Scheer and probably the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen [Admiral Hipper-class] at Bergen, Norway and the battleship Tirpitz at Trondheim, Norway.
