An item reported the departure from Pernambuco, Brazil on 30 July by the Italian merchant ship Africana and with the Italian merchant ship Stella at Pernambuco asking the same day for clearance. Both ships had permission to depart and on 24 July Italian aircraft carried out a reconnaissance presumably for both ships.
