Master of whaler Maria Theresa sick according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 8 October 1853

An item reported that the ship Bhering arriving from Petropoliki at Hawaii on 5 October stated that the master of the Maria Theresa namely Taylor was on 8 September sick with rheumatism on the shore. She had 600 barrels oil and went back to sea with the mate in command with the intention to come back for Taylor after the whaling season ended.
