An item reported that the Caribbean Defence Commanded established an air base on the island Aruba, Dutch West Indies and where light and heavy bombers were stationed for hunting Axis submarines. The American U.S.A.T. Gibbens was waiting in the harbour for a naval convoy coming from Puerto Rico.
