Tasmanian whaler Marianna reported according to the Australian newspaper The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser dated Tuesday 15 March 1836

An item reported the discovery on Goat Island, Curtis group [Griffiths Island, Victoria, Australia?] of a memorandum reporting the whaler Marianna, of Hobart Town, on 12 December, 1,200 barrels, lost her third mate by whale.
