Laid down by Harima Shipbuilding&Engineering Co. Ltd., Harima, Japan in on 8 September 1936, launched on 24 January 1937, completed on 9 April 1937, requisitioned by the navy as transport on 9 October 1939, registered as auxilairy transport on 15 October 1941, torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Kack (SS-259) around 20 nautical miles west of Hachijo Jima, Izu Islands on 26 June 1943 and stricken on 1 September 1943.
