Part of the Ula-class based on the German U-210 class and built by Kongsberg/Thyssen Nordseewerke at Emden. The hull sections were made in Norway and than put together at Nordwerke. Displacement surfaced 1,040 tons and submerged 1,150 tons with the dimensions 194'0" x 18'0" x 15'0". Speed surfaced 11 knots and submerged 23 knots. At a speed of 8 knots is a range of 5.000 miles possible. Fitted out with 2 diesel engines of 2 x 970kW and one 6.000 shp electric motor. Armed with 8-21"torpedo tubes in the bow. Maximum depth is 1600 feet or 500 meters.
