Arrival of Dutch Greenland whalers at Texel on 27 July according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 4 August 1759

Texel, 30 July. Arrival on 27 July Gerardus, commandeur Klaas Groot, 12 whales, 200 quardelen, De Drie Gezusters, M. Vermeulen, 9 whales, 194 quardelen; Catrina, commandeur A. Spyker, 5 whales, 120 quardelen, d’Expeditie, commandeur J.J. de Jong, 103 quardelen seal fat, all coming from Greenland. With commandeur Klaas Groot came back commandeur Jan Strop (1) who left his vessel on 27 May stuck in the ice with a catch of 6 whales. According to tidings arrived in Het Vlie commandeur Fedde Jacobs with 8-9 whales and commandeur Pieter Dirksz with 16½ whales and 300 quardelen, both coming from Greenland.
