According to an announcement intended notary P. van de Graft to sell on Thursday 6 November 1856 at 19.00 o’clock in the upper room of the Society De Vergenoeging in public the next shares in ships namely 1/32 share in the company of the bark ship Mercurius, directors Spoors&Springers of Middelburg; 1/30 share in the company of the bark ship Pauline, directors Boddaert&Compagnie of Middelburg and 1/30 share in the company of the bark ship Zeepaard, directors Van den Broecke, Luteyn&Schouten of Middelburg.The edition dated 8 November 1856 reported that the first share (the last payment still to be paid) was sold for ƒ 812, the second share for ƒ 1,660 and the third share for ƒ 1,550.
