Sale of the Dutch merchant brig ship Alida en Henriëtte according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant daily edition dated 9 May 1857

According to the announcement was the auction on Monday 25 May 18.00 o'clock at Amsterdam in the Nieuwe Stads Herberg in the presence of notary J.L. Kabel. She was called a well sailing coppered vessel with as master W. Vogel and now lying at Rotterdam. According to the tonnage certificate were her dimensions 31 ellen x 6 ellen x 3 ellen 79 duimen and the measurement 313 tons of 165 lasten.


Ron de Vos supplies more details dealing with this ship in his book Nederlandse schoeners&brikken, page 159. He wrote that she was composite build as the brig Alida&Henriette at the yard of J. Otto at Krimpen a/d IJssel in 1854. She was by the book-keepers A. Spekman&Hurrelbrinck of Amsterdam in 1858 sold to Pieter and Daniel Goedkoop of Amsterdam who sold her again in 1870 now apparently named Alida.
