American side wheel paddle steam gunboat USS Iosco 1863->1868

Of the Sassacus-class. Launched on 20 March 1863 at the yard of Larrabee, Bath, Maine, USA, commissioned on 26 April a year later and decommissioned on 28 July 1865 and February 3 years later rebuild as a coal hulk to be used at the New York Navy Yard With a displacement of 1,173 tons and 974 tons burthen were her dimensions 236‘ (between perpendiculars) x 35’ x 9’6” and depth of hold of 12’. The inclined direct-acting engine and 2 boilers supplied 665 ihp allowing a speed of 13 knots. Her crew numbered between 163 and 200 me. The armament consisted in 1864 of 2-100 pdr muzzle loading rifles, 4-9” smoothbore guns, 2-24pdr muzzle loading rifles and 2-12pdr howitzers.
