Movements of the Greeks and Turkish navies according to the Dutch newspaper Goessche Courant dated 5 October 1821

A letter received from Trieste mentioned that the second defeat of the Turkish fleet off Samos although constantly denied partly true was. The Turkish who were as coward as the Greeks were brave reached open sea while the Greeks captured 2 frigates while a ship of the line and some transports with Asiatic troops on board were burnt and other transports sunk. The same letter confirmed that Molvesia in Morea surrendered to the Greeks.
