Uruguay allowed Allies to use her ports and naval bases according to the Dutch newspaper Delftsche Courant dated 7 February 1942

According to the newspaper Exchange Telegraph from Montevideo permitted the Uruguayan cabinet all countries which defended freedom to use the Uruguayan harbours and naval bases without any further formalities. Already appeared American light forces in Uruguayan waters making contact with Uruguayan patrol boats. Other newspapers like Dagblad van het Zuiden etc. dated 9 and Nieuwe Tilburgsche Courant dated 7 February confirmed this item.
